Authentic sneakers have a very specific smell to them. Counterfeit sneakers have a strong chemical smell because they use a cheap adhesive for their shoes.
Construction
Although authentic shoes may also have factory imperfections, we can identify the authentic stitching patters around the midsole, labels, color, placements, and details.
Sole stiffness
Stiffer sole often indicates authenticity.
Loose or extremely flexible soles may suggest counterfeits.
Sole stiffness often correlates with authenticity in shoe evaluation.
Black light
UV lighting reveal excess glue use widely found in counterfeit shoes. Excess glue looks like super bright or whitish spots.
